Malak Bhatt
Malak Bhatt is an Advocate-on-Record before the Supreme Court of India and the founder of Chambers of Malak Bhatt. An Oxford graduate with over a decade of experience in high-stakes litigation and strategic advisory, he has built a practice recognised for combining deep legal strategy with practical, solution-oriented advice in matters that are as commercially complex as they are legally demanding.
His practice spans insolvency and restructuring, white-collar crime, regulatory investigations, commercial litigation, arbitration, constitutional matters, banking disputes, and crisis management strategy. He has advised and represented promoters, corporates, financial institutions, insolvency professionals, resolution applicants, directors, and individuals before the Supreme Court of India, NCLAT, NCLTs, High Courts, arbitral tribunals, PMLA courts, and regulatory forums across the country.
Prior to founding the Chambers, Malak co-founded NM Law Chambers, where he played a central role in building a respected disputes and investigations practice known for its aggressive yet nuanced legal strategy and ability to handle legally and commercially complex mandates. Before that, he was associated with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Co., where he gained extensive exposure to high-value commercial disputes and corporate advisory work.
Beyond active practice, Malak is committed to the legal ecosystem and to the communities the law serves. He serves as Standing Counsel for the High Court of Gujarat before the Supreme Court of India on a pro bono basis, and is an Advisory Board Member and Delhi Coordinator of the Blind Peoples’ Association of India. He is a Member and Consultant at the Centre for Disability Studies, NALSAR University of Law, and is part of the writing group at the Nani Palkhivala Arbitration Centre. He also collaborates actively with the Insolvency Law Academy on policy research and recommendations submitted to the Ministry of Finance, and serves as an Executive Member of the Oxford-Cambridge Society of India.
Malak has been recognised by Legal 500 as a Rising Star in the APAC region for white-collar crimes, by Forbes India as one of the Top 25 Advocates-on-Record of the Supreme Court of India, and, most recently, as a Future Star by Benchmark Litigation 2026.
